In questo contesto, l’adozione di nuove tecniche del web semantico come le reti di conoscenza apre le porte ad un nuovo modo di raccontare e documentare l’architettura storica e le sue complessità, rendendo la sua conoscenza durevole e accessibile non solo agli specialisti del restauro.

In the architectural heritage field, new knowledge management approaches are emerging for the documentation of buildings and their tangible and intangible features. They are often integrated with the consolidated heritage building information modeling approach to fulfill the information requirements of the various investigation and interpretation processes. In this context, the adoption of semantic web techniques – such as the knowledge networks – enables a new way to tell and document the historic architecture and its complexity, ensuring the lasting of its knowledge and its accessibility to a larger audience.
