Quale valorizzazione per il complesso sportivo?
L’articolo affronta il tema della tutela e valorizzazione del complesso del Foro Italico, alla luce degli impatti antropici portati dallo sport agonistico ed alle trasformazioni degli impianti sportivi realizzati nella prima metà del 900. Contemperare il rispetto dei valori storico-critici con gli standard internazionali richiesti da eventi sportivi altamente impattanti su un complesso progettato per altri tempi ed altri fruitori è la sfida purtroppo fallita, ed in questo senso, la ‘vocazione sportiva’ del Foro (accanto alle vicende relative alla proprietà) sembra essere stata il maggiore ostacolo alla sua conservazione.

How should the sports complex be developed?
The article deals with the issue of the protection and enhancement of the Foro Italico complex in Rome, in the light of the anthropogenic impacts brought by competitive sport and the transformations of the sports facilities built in the first half of the 900s. Reconciling respect for historical-critical values with the international standards required by sporting events that have a high impact on a complex designed for other times and other users is unfortunately a failed challenge (also because alongside the events relating to the property), so that the sporting vocation of the Foro Italico seems to have been the greatest obstacle to its conservation.
