Nel centro di Venezia il cinquecentesco Palazzo Grifalconi è stato interessato da un intervento di restauro per la realizzazione di alcuni appartamenti di lusso. L’approccio conservativo all’edificio e la definizione di un progetto attento all’esistente hanno riguardato integralmente il Palazzo nelle sue caratteristiche, nei materiali e nelle finiture. Il contributo di queste pagine descrive gli interventi di restauro dei serramenti in legno esistenti, alcuni anche molto antichi, e la realizzazione di nuovi elementi simili ai preesistenti ma con caratteristiche prestazionali adeguate alle attuali esigenze funzionali.

In the centre of Venice the fifteenth century Palazzo Grifalconi has been restored and converted into luxury apartments.
The conservative restoration of the building and the accurate attention to the conservation of the Palazzo’s original materials and details were essential to the project.
The following pages will describe the restoration of the original wooden windows and doors, some of which are ancient, and the addition of new elements, similar to the old ones, but with modern characteristics that satisfy contemporary practical needs.
